Bright Horizons.

ZARA ZARA ZARA ZARA its coming to NZ!! Well I am 98% sure. I have it on good authority but, you know, its kind of too good to be true.
Apparently it's going to open in Newmarket when they extend 277 across to farmers, which of course is going to take AGES and hasn't even started. When it does though it will be so so soooo good.

The store has already taken over Sydney and Melbourne so I guess it was only a matter of time before it graced our shores. (It's really frustrating that they don't ship here!)
The only problem is that now with Topshop already here, Zara on its way and a pile of other international brands available on the internet the world is getting smaller and smaller.

We all wish that the NZ high street was as great as the UK's but I don't know... then we wouldn't have anything new to see when we go overseas which is one of my favorite parts of traveling!
I guess I am in to minds about it, but for the most part I CANNOT WAIT.

ROSCOE

This Jeffery Campbell Roscoe boot is so fricken cool it kills me a little.
The colour, the cut outs, the hardware... Roscoe oozes effortless downtown edge.
I mean just LOOK AT THAT SHOE.
Sir J.C has done it again.

Too cool for you.

Jimmy D has unleashed his new S/S 2012 collection and it oozes that too-cool-to-care vibe.
In keeping with the dark spirituality of his previous collections, he has created 'Buzz Kill' to contain really versatile pieces that are completely wearable but still have that Jimmy D style.

I am going crazy over his use of chiffon, I especially love that ruffled dress!
There have been a number of designers that have used sheer fabric, but not many with the same ease as Jimmy's.
If you want something cool, mysterious and oversized then these are just the designs for you. As for the cowboy boots, leave those to the experts.

School Yard.

Remember Scoobies? They were all the rage, everyone had them hanging off/wrapped around anything they could, wrists, ankles, bags, zips... If you couldn't make them then you were totally uncool.

Well nOir jewelry has taken our childhood craze and made them all grown up.
These 'Shaka wrap around' bracelets are brilliant. They are handwoven from lanyard plastic (thats like scoobie plastic, only better)  and the clasp is gold plated, solid brass.
Im sold. I would really like a few, partly for the novelty and partly because they would look kick ass in summer.

The Ones to Watch.

I want a watch. Preferably a gold one.

Or, if I was being really extravagantly over the top this CHANEL one would go down quiet well.

These TOY watches I just want for summer.. on the beach.. with a tan.

The great men Micheal Kors, Marc by Marc Jacobs and who ever is behind Nixon, definitely have the watch thing down. (and they are actually affordable while at the same time covetable.)
Seriously a great watch makes anything look super expensive. Plus its somewhat nostalgic to read the time off a good old fashioned watch don't you think?

Sweat and Fashion

Watching this weeks episode of Project Runway made me want to yell things at the TV.
WHY was Hiedi's "Activewear" line so incredibly blah? SUCH a boring pallet.
Poor Mondo wanted to hit her. Most of the designers collections were just soooo boring it was painful (except for April's cause she rocks).

So I decided to compile some points to think about when you have allot of shit to do and you just want to be comfortable but you don't want to look like a slob.

>USE COLOUR and prints.
>Don't be afraid to trade your lycra for track pants, these Adidas ones are nice enough to wear out of the house.
>Mix fabrics just like when you dress normally, no one wants to see anyone in head-to-toe spandex.
>Swap your runners for an awesome pair of trainers like these Liberty print ones by Nike.
>Don't think nobody can see you in those Ugg boots, THEY CAN.
>Black is your friend when you rock it like April does.
>If it's saggy around the but area its not OK. Throw them away.
>Leather makes everything instantly better.

Off the shelf

BLACK magazine

UK Harpers Bazaar

Spanish ELLE

ID magazine

Dazed & Confused

These are my picks of the BEST July 2011 covers / the magazines that are stacked in my room, making it impossible to study:

Our own homegrown BLACK magazine ALWAYS has great covers that are simplistic and clean.
This one gives me the sudden urge to put on some red lipstick and walk mysteriously through the woods.

This UK Harpers Bazaars cover featuring the ageless Claudia Schiffer, makes me incredibly wistful for summer. The tangerine colour makes me think of long, hot days at the beach... (Don't feel too jealous though, London has been raining, raining, raining recently.)

Daria Werbowy has been one of my favourite models ever since I read a story in Vogue Australia in which she was photographed in her enviable loft apartment with all its exposed brick walls and wooden floors... Anyway this cover prevails in its simplicity. Daria looks amazing too.

ID magazine. is ID magazine.

Dazed & Confused has Beyonce on the cover. She is eating an ice cream. She wears Tom Ford, Riccardo Tisci, Gareth Pugh, Haider Ackermann, Stefano Pilati and Marc Jacobs.
don't think further explanation is needed.

What goes up must 'Comedown.'

So Stolen Girlfriends Club went and did a collaboration with homegrown artist Karl Maughan for their Summer 2012 collection and It totally rocks. The collection ('The Big Comedown') took Maughan's floral prints and translated them onto the clothes to create some really awesome creations.
I am falling all over that maxi dress and those black paneled pants!
I would wear them to death.

This new fangdangled age

Net-a-porters online magazine is celebrating the HOT bloggers of the moment and I will admit I regularly visit each and everyone of their pages.
I love that in this 'information age' our generation is able to say we (when I say we I mean them, but I benefit from it so... 'we') changed the way fashion is viewed.

Ricci, Rochas, THEYSKEYS

via Style.com

I am seriously attached to everything Olivier Theyskens creates. The former Nina Ricci and Rochas creative director is the master of the wearable and the downtown edgy.
This Resort 2012 collection is easily my favorite of the collections so far, I think it was the quirky tailoring that got me… and maybe also the slouchy, 1980s, acid wash denim.
Every piece is so incredibly wearable, and the way each look is put together makes me want to buy EVERYTHING!
I just love him, watch him talk about his line HERE and you will to.
