A Perfect Pairing.

 Bright Nights

Brighter than bright neon hues have a new best friend this coming fall. Grey.

I admit, even though I am a HUGE fan of colour, I am already slightly sick of the bright on bright trend that is in command this summer. I guess thats what happens when you live at the bottom of the world. The southern hemisphere sets a trend, the street style blogs/runways/magazines grab hold of it and we, down here in NZ, are tired of it before we even get to try it.

Christopher Kane's Spring 2011 show set the neon movement in motion and now almost every designer from Marc to Marni has something acidic for sale on Netaporter.

Thankfully (and not surprisingly) the fashion pack has found a fresh way to wear those electric pieces. Neon and grey seems to be THE combination for this fall with everyone who's anyone embracing the look. I love this dark on bright pairing, the pop of neon against an otherwise flat pallet is perfection. I don't like black with colour for some reason, if I am wearing black I would rather be in ALL black. Grey is soft where black is hard, I think here black is too jarring.

Cute at the Cure Shop

This afternoon I visited the Cure Shop in Glassons Queen St store, excited to see the collaborations from:
Huffer, Zambesi, Karen Walker, Cybele, Ruby Twenty Seven Names and  Trelise Cooper.

It is so SWEET! I loved the presentation of the stock with the cute mini dolls and the white washed cabinets, It is a bit pink party but hey, thats signature BCRT. There are also three of the MOST lifelike mannequins I have ever seen, I kept on double taking thinking they were models... pretty sure I said excuse me to the one in the blue jeans (below) as I tried to take a picture.
All the items are sweet too, my favourites are definitely the Cybele Nail Polish,  Zambesi Candle (in signature Zambesi black), Karen Walker hat and the BCRT white wrist watch (which is suprisingly heavy and thus expensive feeling).
Also the good old BCRT T-Shirts are back, I am loving the Grey with yellow star Ruby design...

Actually I kind of just want everything... And why not? With proceeds going towards fighting Breast Cancer, its a very worthy cause!
